With two settings, the Athena PMT™ is able to treat both urge and stress incontinence. The two elements of the device, both of which fit together when not in use for easy storage, are the wireless controller and the trainer:

The Wireless Controller

This small, ergonomic wireless controller allows you to safely regulate your prescribed workout. The system has been designed with a default duration of 15 minutes, after which the device shuts off, so you don’t have to worry about timing your workout. The features of the remote control are:

  • On and off switches: Use the ‘On’ switch to begin your workout, and the ‘Off’ switch in the case that you need to end your workout before the preset 15 minutes are up.
  • Dial: A rotating dial allows the user to regulate intensity.
  • Channel switch: In stress incontinence mode (50Hz), the PMT strengthens and tones the muscles of the pelvic floor. In urge incontinence mode (12.5 Hz), the PMT relaxes the muscles and discourages the involuntary muscle contractions that lead to urge incontinence. Women with mixed incontinence alternate treatments.

The Trainer

About the size of a tube of lipstick,the trainer is easy to insert, easy to remove, and relies on no tubes or wires to connect it to the control device. With this discreet, easy to use and comfortable system, you can move around and perform other tasks while doing your prescribed workout.

 The trainer has two stainless steel electrodes that produce safe and regulated electrical stimulation.

The trainer works to strengthen the PC muscles in the case of stress incontinence, thereby tightening the pelvic floor, and bringing the support and equilibrium of pressures in the bladder that reduce or eliminate incontinence.

The trainer, set to a lower frequency setting for urge incontinence, relaxes the PC muscles and alleviates the involuntary muscle contractions that lead to urge incontinence.

When not in use, the trainer is stowed away inside the controller module. It also comes with an attractive carrying case.
