Patient cannot feel pelvic contractions

- Check that Athena device is working/batteries are charged/device is on
- Have patient manually reposition the PMT with her fingertip until pelvic contractions are perceivable
- Have patient use a water based lubricant prior to insertion of the trainer

Patient complains of painful insertion of the PMT trainer

- Have patient use a water based lubricant prior to insertion of the trainer
- Check patient for vaginal irritation or infection
- Check patient for adequate vaginal estrogenization (add local cream prn)

Patient complains of pain in rectum with pelvic contractions

- Tell patient not to insert the PMT trainer as deep into the vagina
- Instruct patient not to dangle her legs or feet during a session: lie in a reclined position with both feet evenly placed in front of her..

Patient stops feeling contractions during a session

- Have patient manually reposition the PMT with her fingertip until pelvic contractions are perceivable again
- Instruct patient not to stand or ambulate during a session
- Check that Athena device is working/batteries are charged/device is on

Patient complains of painful pelvic contractions
|
- Have patient manually reposition the PMT with her fingertip until pelvic contractions are more comfortable
- Instruct patient to check the Athena dial settings to ensure that the intensity has not been accidentally advanced
- Check patient for vaginal irritation or infection
